Agreed. That really annoys me.
They did it in 4.2 & 4.10 i think and i'm sure there are more.
I know it's 'Spooks' and so i can rarely say it's a predicatble outcome... but come on it's so cliche!

I kept checking my watch (even tho it wasn't real time completely) - from the moment the bomb disposal guys declared themselves incompetent there would have been enough time to at least evacuate the floor and the ones below and above (incl. the room where the HS and his Cambridge buddy were nodding) .. but then we wouldn't have had such a nice big bang

I haven't gotten around to getting my ep 8 discussion together yet, but I did have one potentially interesting question -- if both Ros and the HS made it through the blast, will he really make her section chief? Replacing Harry?
I would think that would be for the DG to decide, but since we don't seem to have had a DG in s8, everything goes directly to the HS.

I doubt he would. Besides what would his grounds be for replacing Harry? He seemed to genuinely want Harry to like him too so replacing him would be silly.
My suggestion is that Ros could be given a custom made job role which is to make all visits to the Home Sec's on behalf of Harry except under extreme circumstances.
