I wonder if the character of Tom Quinn could be resuscitated?

With Ruth's return, it is tempting to think anybody might come back
. Zoe or Tom would be prime contenders. Perhaps he has been undercover (deep) with Harry's knowledge? Perhaps he has been working for MI6 somewhere? Perhaps his breaking down and removal from service was just part of a larger story which has taken several years to work through? After all Lucas spent a few years languishing as part of the Spooks background mythos. Perhaps TQ has actually just finally dealt with his personal demons, and is ready to be reactivated in Section D?

I was very pleased to see the Ruth character return and allowing for the alarming number of fatalities of MI5 agents (Adam Carter - how could they?) it would be nice to see something positive arise out of a seemingly historically negative character demise.

Maybe he could, but it feels like he has his own happy ending with Christine (1.0 - the original Wink) and I don't see that the character would want to come back. MM might want to come back, but it's not like he's got a shortage of work to do, so I don't see him coming back. Then again, if I hadn't been so much of a HR shipper I doubt I would have thought that

Ruth would have come back.
So I think it is theoretically possible, but unlikely.

but I think Spooks will feel more fresh and exciting if they get a new cast though.

I think if the show is to continue (and we all hope so!) then the new blood I hope will be around for a while. But then a while in Spooks terms could be two series'.

Be great if Tom came back but I can't see it happening. Confused

Too much has happened since Tom left for him to be re-integrated into the grid. His whole characterization would need to change and that wouldn't really play well, I don't think.

Maybe if Tom showed how much he changed or recovered since leaving Harry would let him back? Although TBH I can't see him wanting to come back - i wouldn't if I were him Tongue
