Oh dear Kirayuki, you dont sound well with that cough. I see what you are saying. What if it was a simulated exercise where people higher-up were watching them all on the grid and marking them. The stress of it all would be brilliant and watching Harry getting so annoyed would be great.

)But yes that's the idea. You put it better than i did anyway.
I also happen to think it would be nice to get away from the routine talk on grid then fight in field mould that's seemed to form more recently. Another Grid based episode would also give us time to learn more about the characters (which is sorely needed in Tariq's case) as well as show us what the grid is actually like now seeing as it's changed so much.

Yeah, spooks hasn't even touched on the EU issues, which I find surprising. How about an ep dealing with war crimes trials at the Hague and needing to find a "lost" witness in Britain? Or sex slave trafficking through the UK, into the US?

Yeah, they're here (in Washington) but since so much of the world's action takes place on that side of the Atlantic, I'd imagine we don't have as many British agents as you have American agents hanging about. Also, I'm guessing US agents use the UK, France, Germany, etc, as jumping-off points for actions further on into eastern Europe, the mid-East, Asia , etc, with or without permission.

Maybe an episode where there's an emergency EU meeting or some meeting involving Europe and not the Americans for once (sorry CIA). And maybe we can see a bit more of how they make them undercover, you know, the whole prep side of things, making false IDs, getting someone to vouch for them, all that kind of stuff.

How about a story involving Ireland? Say something that Harry is suspected to have done when he was stationed there comes back to haunt him when the Irish kidnap Ruth and hold her hostage, demanding that Harry goes public with whatever they think he did and then resign. Harry then has to go to Ireland to find evidence of his innocence in order to save Ruth, while the rest of the team attempt to find where she is being held to launch a rescue mission.

I think i'd die from the tension.
Although saying that, i would like to see another episode where Ruth is in danger. (If we count where she was nearly shot in 8.8...) There are only about 6 episodes out of the 41 she's done. It would be nice to see how it played out now that she's come back to the Grid too.

I really like the Ireland idea. There have not really been that many episodes where the politics of that country has featured considering Britain was at war with the PIRA for decades and some may say, still is. Some sort of blackmail attempt involving Harry and Ruth would go down a storm. I couldnt see Harry doing anything to lose Ruth again though.

In a bizarre way, I think that Harry starting to crack would be a good episode. I think it was on the Harry thread that we were talking about how scary it would be if he started to break, not only because when people break they normally tend to get very on edge, and I think that Harry would end up yelling at everyone, but also if we saw him broken, that would be scary because Harry is rarely not in control, so to see him broken would be scary, in a strange way (Sorry, I now sound like I hate Harry, I really do like him as a character, but I also like dramatic plot lines involving the characters I like...)

I see what you mean about Harry breaking.
Also the Ireland idea would be good specifically because Harry wouldn't want to risk loosing Ruth again but at the same time wouldn't want to deal with them at all due to his previous experiences in his early career. He wouldn't have a clue what to do really. I think he'd be most terrified of them doing to her what happened to him. It'd be an internal struggle for all the world to see i think. Ooh, if that happened i'd be over the moon!
