Episode 1 is definitely the best so far. I am of the feeling so far that this story could be told in fewer episodes. But I'm looking forward to what comes next.

Watched ep 3 today it tried to pack to much in and one scene with jack and someone and Rex
I fail to see the need for unless they are saying jack is back on his self distructive drive he was in s1 torchwood

RE: Torchwood - JHyde - 25-07-2011 06:26 AM

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out why Jack went after Danes. Unless it was meant to be Jack wanting to try and avenge the little girl he killed and to show that Jack is still very touchy where kids are at stake.

Wait, people have seen episode 3 already? How come? Is it being broadcast earlier in other countries than in the UK? Because ep 2 only aired on Thursday here... Sad

RE: Torchwood - Tess24 - 25-07-2011 02:24 PM

New episodes are broadcast in the US 6 days before the UK . So on Thursday 28th the UK sees episode 3 and on the 29th the US sees episode 4.

Don't faint.

Im new to Torchwood but enjoying the two episodes I've seen so far. Have all the series been sort of half UK/US collaborations? Seems to work quite well. Love the idea of population growth distroying the world. Not quite sure what Captain Jack's doing here in the present day though.

RE: Torchwood - Nia M - 28-07-2011 08:52 AM

I'm pretty sure this is the first UK/US collaboration series. At least, it's the first series of Torchwood to be set in the US anyway.

TL watching sci fi? Didn't think I'd live to see that! Welcome Smile

For UK fans, @JaneEspenson will be live tweeting episodes as they go to air in the UK. She's one of the writers (episode 3 was her work) and she used to work on Buffy. Also wrote of the episodes for Game of Thrones recently.

I think I'll make the rule on this thread that spoiler tags should be used until the episodes are shown in the UK. So US fans and those of us watching online, use spoiler tags just after an episode has shown. We'll try and keep it fair that way.

Ha! Thanks JHyde. Well it is called Miracle Day Wink

I think in my own mind though I'm not thinking of it as Sci fi as I haven't seen any space ships yet or green men with big hands.

Episode 3 did surprise me a little though. I was convinced Capt Jack was the father of the Welsh woman's baby. After last nights shenanigans, I feel this isn't very likely Smile

What made you think that? I'm not saying that it can't happen otherwise but she's married to Rhys. Jack and Gwen have never been together (that we know of so far) and it's highly unlikely that they ever will given recent promotional interviews for the series.
