We Harry fans are above such petty argument because we are confident of victory Smile

I'm outta here.

Shiny new thread, cool!

I don't know, I think there are people he trusts completely in season 8, and I would count Ruth, Ros and his daughter (and his dog Tongue). But he definitely trusts Ruth most of all. I mean, she is barely in the door when he tells her about Nightingale, even before he told Ros. And he tells her despite his undertaking to the HS that he would keep it quiet. That says a lot.

It is rather amazing that Harry can still trust anyone on his team in light of the many betrayals he's lived through - Tom, Ros, and Connie have all betrayed him at some stage.

Dont forget Adam when he went to the press about the Tehran train bomb thing.

It's Harry's ability to move on after the betrayals that make him such a formidable boss, and man. He doesn't necessarily forgive, as such, but he manages to come to some kind of practical accomodation that allows him to continue working with people. If he didn't have that capacity, he wouldn't have lasted long in his job given the number of betrayals, great and petty, that he's faced with on a continuing basis.

Its amazing with all the betrayals that Harry can even trust anybody. I personally think that being betrayed by Connie and Qualtrough in season 7 must have been the hardest as the betrayal would taint every memory he had of these supposed friends.

Yeah, plus the fact that they also framed him made it a very personal betrayal in my opinion. I'm not sure he would have forgiven Connie had she lived. I'm also still amazed that he took the HS' attempt to assassinate him and his team in season 6 with such equanimity, and that he later had such respect for the very same man. If he can see the greater good in the betrayal, perhaps he's more willing to forgive, but in Connie's case there is no greater good.

I suppose he could see the good intention behind it, and the Home Secretary often helps him out. I think with the HS it would have been more a disappointment to Harry than anything else.

I did indeed say that in my eyes, there is no Spooks without Harry Pearce.

If Harry ever leaves Spooks, I'm shutting SF down. Tongue
