I still want a Pearce vs Mace showdown. Or Shaw.. just some kind of showdown with an old enemy would be A-MAZING.

Ooh, yeah! A Harry/Mace showdown would be brilliant.

I could see Mace coming back for revenge but I cant quite see Juliet coming back, although I do love her. I am not quite sure what the storyline could be for Juliet. We certainly need a hate character for the series which runs throughout. Harry and Mace have unfinished business.

Harry up against somebody would be great. He comes across all combative and awesome when he's protecting section D against evil machinations, like Jools Siviter and Mace.

It's be pretty hard to top that scene with Mace where Harry slashes his arm with a glass.

New guy please.

With Sugarhorse, they may have realised that Harry was to be fast-tracked to his current position, so who better to invite to the inner circle that one who was going to be around for a long while - HP is not expendable Smile As Silktie said, Harry may have already had contacts in Russia, or the contacts were set up for him.

Spoiler: show
Something I found interesting in 8.1 was it seemed like they were getting to Harry - in a few scenes early on, he was weary, and even flinching when Mani would make a sudden move. When Ruth is brought in, he becomes very determined, even driven - I wasn't expecting him to kick the laptop!

One of my fave Harry moments ever, the kicking of the laptop.

RE: [spoilers] Sir Harry Pearce 2.0 - Aria - 12-02-2010 06:42 PM

I got the feeling in 8.1 that Harry wasn't that bothered about Mani and his threats. He did seem weary and accepting of his fate. When Ruth was mentioned he suddenly had the women he loved involved and his anger and anguish was all for her. The kicking of the laptop and "she is home" are my favourite Harry moments of season 8.

At the risk of getting everyone worried about me and my knowledge of torture again: that's one of the most effective threats against experienced operatives. Putting other people in danger and forcing them to watch or participate, let alone loved ones.

Yup, that's basically how the IRA operated.
