Forgot to mention that even if Harry survives the inquest and wants to carry on it seems unlikely that the "Powers That Be" would let Harry and Ruth work together again.

Having said that do the "Powers That Be" know about Ruth and Harry? If Harry argues that he was saving a top Intelligence Officer who would save hundreds of lives in the future he may get away with it (if he wants to.) Most of the people who know about Harry and Ruth are dead and I don't think that those that aren't, Malcolm, Beth, Dimitri, Tariq, Alec would say anything. Can't remember what happened to Juliet after the bombing? Also Ruth went behind Harry's back to the HS so the HS may not know.

Surely MI5 needs Harry when there is the Royal Wedding and the Olympics coming up in London !

You would think the "knee jerk" reaction would be to move Ruth to another department but that would not solve the problem of Harry being compromised, where she is concerned. Ruth will always be Harry's achilles heel wherever she works and wherever she is in the world. Look how someone got to her when she was "hidden" away in Cyprus. There is nothing that can be done about this. This situation will always be, so long as both Harry and Ruth are alive.

I think Harry's best hope of survival in the Service is that HIS team fights for him and supports him. This could mean playing dirty but I am sure they would do this for Harry. With Ruth on your side, she could dig up anything on anyone, no matter how hidden. So that the people deciding Harry's fate, would have no choice but to let him be, and to let him carry on helping with the Royal Wedding and Olympics Wink

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Enquiry or no enquiry, they will need Harry back by episode 3 of series 10 at the very latest, otherwise who is going to sort out the Baddie of the Week? Let alone make sure William can safely marry Kate of Super Shiny Hair and Lovely Blue Dress fame Smile.

Today is a good day for me! My "Harry's Diary" arrived in the mail and made me very very happy!

Very interesting to read Harry's point of view on many things and what he thought of the "kiddies", his relationship with his family and what happened between them. This will certainly come useful for my fanfics!

I have to wonder, will they release another updated version of "Harry's Diary" since new information has been shown since Series 7, 8, and 9, especially the whole Lucas situation? I don't believe Moscow was mentioned in Harry's diary, so maybe there's more reason to release another diary soon? Smile

BTW, who knew Harry Pearce had such a distinctive hate against Bush Jr. LOL! Talk about snide comments! Big Grin

It's making me laugh to see Harry in a santa hat. The most lugubrious Father Christmas ever!

Bravo Nine, we'd prefer to keep the discussion of Harry's Diary to its appropriate thread, just so that no one who hasn't read it gets anything spoiled for them. We assume that anyone who enters the Diary thread has read the book or doesn't care.

Just gone in search of a Harry's Diary thread but couldn't find it. Any clues?

It's under General Discussion:

Thanks Silktie. I'm really going senile. I followed your link and realised I had been there before and even posted. Ignore me, I'm slinking away now.

I wonder if Harry's Diary will get a mention in season 10? He does say at the beginning of the diary that he decided to keep one to have the real version of events on paper, should the establishment ever try to come after him. It would be cool if we see the diary used in an attempt to save Harry's job.
