Yeah, Wilf was Donna's grandfather, only introduced because the actor playing her dad passed away suddenly. They had to reshoot some scenes and they used this actor because he'd been in the Christmas special so they decided to play it out thay way.
I didn't actually know Catherine Tate was in the Christmas special for real, so I'm very glad to hear that she is. Even though it might just be as a clueless Donna.

I'm glad he was in it. He was great in the series. He was also a great foil for Donna's mom.

Isn't it gorgeous? I actually cried, but that could be for a host of other reasons, so I'll test it on my sister over the next few days. She doesn't cry as easily as I do though.
I could just really imagine him saying that, without being patronising or anything, just that it was this gift and almost holy trust. And Moffat feels similarly, so I bet he's a bit nervous. I know he co-wrote the two parter.

If I recall correctly, she said that "her" Doctor was older than DT, so she shouldn't be appearing in the next series. Which also means that the next Doctor after Matt Smith will have to be older. Won't that have to be the final one? The Doctor can only regenerate 12 (or is it 13?) times, so he'll have used up all his lives.
