Maybe he asked her not to tell his past self that he'd regenerated, maybe we've missed out a bit in the middle of their relationship and this is just one event that happened, but the rest of the time it was 10 with her...

Has anyone else seen part one of the end of time? I really enjoyed it - and part two looks really interesting. They've put up a scene from the next episode on the Doctor Who website and it looks interesting, and explains
Spoiler: show
how the Timelords are still alive... It appears to be because this event takes place before the end of the Time War... actually, I wonder if we get a cameo from the 8th Doctor... doubt it, but still

I have part one recorded on the DVR, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

Calling all Dr Who & Torchwood fans - please vote for John Barrowman as Man of the decade at http://www.afterelton.com/blog/edkennedy/man-decade-twitter

Hope this doesn't break any Forum rules, apologies if it does.

The series 5 (or, if you listen to Moffat, 1. But it all gets confusing,) trailer.

Guess what his new catch phrase is Tongue And, also,
Spoiler: show
HE'S RUINING DAVID TENNANT'S SUIT!!! Thcussing Wink

Part 2 was really good. I don't want to give anything away, so I won't mention any of the plot. Lots of surprises though, and quite a tear-jerker.

RE: Doctor Who - JHyde - 02-01-2010 10:26 PM

Oh good! I still haven't seen it, but I'm so excited. I think I'll be watching it at an internet cafe later tonight, and I'm worried I'll be bawling inconsolably in public because of Doctor Who.

RE: Doctor Who - almh - 03-01-2010 09:55 AM

Let me know how you found it JHyde!

I didn't think it was that upsetting, but my youngest sister was in floods of tears, and my dad had to explain to her that David Tennant was fine... I think we made it worse when watching the confidential and it's his 'surprise' leaving thing, and he's barely holding it together and she completely lost it again there.

The thing is, I sort of expected it to be another Doomsday, or another Exit Wounds (Torchwood series 2 finale,) which saw characters leaving and I actually started crying throughout. (Spoilers for the end of time below)

Spoiler: show
This... I think that it tied up the loose ends so neatly that it felt like an end of a story (which it is, it finishes both DT's part and RTD's, as well as Julie Gardners, etc) and it didn't have the same impact. I'm fine with him leaving now, and besides, no matter how popular an actor someone is we can't force them to stay in Doctor Who forever.

The saddest part, I think, was when watching the Doctor Who confidential and hearing RTD say that the Doctor has defeated the Timelords, the Master, the earth is back to normal, he thinks he's escaped the prophecy, and it pans round to DT and then you hear the knocks. And you know he hasn't, you know there's no real choice, he'll never leave Wilf in there to die, he'll save him at the cost of himself. That's the saddest part for me.

I simply haven't had time to see either Ep yet - this afternoon perhaps, desperately trying not to hear anything about it at all I scrolled right past everything you guys have written. Only thing I can gather from what I know is that everyone who has watched it cried!

RE: Doctor Who - JHyde - 03-01-2010 10:49 AM

Not my sister apparently. But she rarely cries. I'm a sap though. I WEEP.

RE: Doctor Who - carole9908 - 03-01-2010 11:13 AM

I agree with you, almh, about the saddest bit (it's in her spoiler, so I won't be more specific).

Spoiler: show
It was never going to be like the end of Torchwood - that was the end of the show completely, whereas Doctor Who will carry on.
