Hi Spooks folks! What DS reported as breaking news actually comes from the interview RA did with the Mirror on the day of the Strike Back premier but that was only published some weeks ago. At that point the BBC had already announced that HN will be one of the leads in Outcasts (as it has been rumoured for some time) and is currently filming in South Africa, so the news that she has left Spooks is hardly a surprise.
Question remains, has she survived the cliffhanger but will make an exit in one of the first episodes?

we also have to account for what appears to be a legion of new characters this series... weren't there like 5 in an article from earlier this year?

i have to say thought the more i watch ros (in s7) the more i am slightly gutted she wont be around! but yes lots of new people!

although I was never a massive fan of Ros, I will definitely miss her biting wit.
And given that most characters don't have a long life span on Spooks, i think she's had a good run.

i saw a clip in youtube of her being interviewd end of last year on this morning and they asked her about rose and she was like i have LOVED playe her! they pulled her up on it and she denied it but looked worried!

That article does not implicitly state that she will not be returning. I agree it seems very likely, but the fact that she was on set at the time of filming when RA gave that interview does not necessarily prove she will not be back at all. It may well be that she is just not in the first few episodes or so that they filmed, and may return later in the series.

or they do what the seem to have done each series is make you think everyoner survived the finale and the first ep then kill them or they leave in ep 2!

I have the nagging feeling that it'll be the other way round, back in ep 1 for a proper "send-off" and then replaced.. (reminds me of Ros' line in 8.4 "that's HR for you")

So long as she's not just shoved to the side and neglected, then I will (probably, eventually) be mostly happy with what they decide to do

i hope its a proper send of! i cant see ros getting a happy ever after it isnt her!
