RE: Series 9 airdate?
Do we know yet whether they're showing it on BBC3 on the previous Friday, like last year?

I can't see it advertised anywhere as being on BBC3. The Radio Times website does not go up to that date yet though. Personally, I hope it's not and is kept on BBC1. Again, I would consider it a mark of the BBC taking Spooks more seriously. BBC3 is a bit of a third rate channel IMO, for programmes that are not expected to attract large audiences. Also, with SKY+ and iplayer, Spooks doesn't really need to be shown twice.

Sorry, rant over.

RE: Series 9 airdate?
I think in the past the ratings on BBC1 probably suffered because it was shown first on BBC3 and everyone who really, really wanted to see it had either seen it on BBC3 or accessed it somehow and didn't watch on BBC1. So not a bad idea not to do this again.

I looked on the BBC3 website and there is no schedule behind the 19th...

RE: Series 9 airdate?
Last year we were watching Spooks twice a week, and despite this the series just wizzed by. I think having it on just once a week will make the series feel longer. That sounds completely crackers, I know, but a bit of anticipation is a good thing.

I agree with you Naivety. Even if they do show it on BBC3, I won't be watching this time. Smile

RE: Series 9 airdate?
I had sort of decided that I would watch the first episode on BBC1, then watch epidsode 2 onwards on BBC3. This means 2 episodes in the first week, then 1 per week thereafter. The last episode isn't usually shown on BBC3, we have to wait until the next week to see it on BBC1.
I agree that just watching one per week makes it seem like it lasts longer IMO. Next week's Radio Times (or TV Quick, Choice, Chav etc) will enlighten us.
