I have heard from both Nicola Walker and Peter Firth and some crew members that they were certain there will be a series 9 so am quite confident about it but like most of you I won't be opening teh champagne untill we have an official confirmantion from the BBC because till then things could always change I guess.

I was hoping there would have been an announcement by now.
However, if they had definitely decided to cancel the show I think they would have gone public to pull a big audience for the finale. |

The main reason I think there'll be a S9 is that the press Kudos has released these last few weeks seem to indicate lots of loose ends. I honestly can't see them ending it on a cliffhanger.
The fact they haven't announced yet is not so significant. Last year they only announced the renewal a few days before the finale.
