Probably We've only had 8 episodes for the last two series, and with budget cuts and all that I doubt they'd go back to 10 episodes

Actually, on second glance, that looks more like a 3 than an 8. Maybe it's episode 2/3 of Block 1? Maybe there is still hope!!
