I wonder what these lines are all about:

“SOMETIMES you have to give a man a chance, Ruth.

“To show you who he really is.”

I think Harry is talking about the HS to Ruth, but there is clearly a double meaning there, which Ruth will of course ignore and continue knitting herself a new cardigan.
