Didn't RA say in one of his early interviews that he had left it up to the producers whether his character survived or not?

That would suggest that he was prepared to stay on

I still maintain that it would be very un-Spooks like to have made Lucas' betrayal so obvious over the course of the Season unless it's all a bluff.
