That's what I thought at first but according to Ian Wylie who has seen the final episode when we see what appears to be the end something else is thrown in.

I'm going to predict a brief clip of Ruth meeting the Chinese speaking Mandarin...............

I seriously hope they don't do that or I'll be screaming at the TV and obsessively explaining it away all next year!
