I confess to never noticing who the director or writer/script editors are for any episode. I just focus on the story and whether it makes sense to me and draws me in.

Something else I found interesting is how the scene where Adam/Dempsey stands back to back so Jo/Zaf can't shoot Dempsey without killing Adam as well, mirrors

Series 8 Spoiler: show

how Jo was killed in episode 8.3 - being shot through the bad guy by her own side.

Zaf sure seemed determined to do what needs to be done here, more so than Jo, who I felt the least likely to actually shoot Adam, if the need arose. Zaf, I think, might actually have done it.
