RE: Favourite piece of film/editing/scene?
Re-watched 9.7 last night and in addition to the interrogation scene between Harry and Lucas, I think the filming in Ruth's fight sequence is really well done. The camera work is messy and awkward, like the fight itself. It hardly knows where to focus as they are careening around the room until it focus' on Ruth. For most of the sequence, one of them is out of frame or only partially in frame. Great work from the make-up and FX department's too.

As for acting, Ruth's visit to Deery in the hospital is brilliant from both for them. I like the shot at the end when she has pauses in the hallway just outside her door listening to him. It is a very dark scene. Contrasted with a very light scene when Harry comes to check up on her the next morning. The lightness of the scene reflects their honesty with each other in that moment.

Upon my second watch of this series I am becoming more aware of how stylized and heightened it is, in both filming as well as a plot.

Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet [Spooks];
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

~Wm. Shakespeare, Hamlet
