Seeing how she reacted, though, maybe Harry was fully justified in keeping it from her until the operation was over. I don't think she would have been able to continue with the operation if he'd told her about her father in the middle of it. But I agree, she had a right to be angry about that. However, the spiteful way in which she reacted really rubs me the wrong way. In the end, she destroyed Ruth's whole life in her attempt to spite Harry. Weigh this against the fact that he had in fact given her her life back at the same time, and it looks really mean spirited from her side. And she only compounds it by being too proud to even apologise to Ruth.
