Harry and Adam

I don't think there is a father figure there. At most, there are mutually recognized and acknowledged similarities between co-workers certainly as field agents and maybe as the only characters that are fathers on the show, disastrous as Harry's fatherhood was and as disastrous as Adam proves to be.

I am not sure that there is any indication that Harry knew Adam personally prior to drafting him into 5 other than by his obvious daring and reckless reputation. Both Harry and Adam were legendary in their times as field agents. Harry clearly likes that about Adam when questioned by Mace and deems Adams loose cannon tendencies brilliant. He needed an uninvolved brash new team leader who could take charge very quickly and you can't get much brasher than Adam.

When they take Wes to the dog races I think it is a bit of an excuse to meet outside of the Grid for a plausible reason. The next time we see Harry with Wes is to tell him about Adam's death. Unless I have forgotten something which is possible. Clearly Wes knows Harry but he also clearly knows that if Harry is there, something is wrong.
