Finally, I got to skim read both articles. (So my denial is falling to pieces ).

1) I'm also pointing at Nicholas Blake as the trusted friend... It can't be Malcolm, nor Ruth...
2) I'm sure she will be there, but maybe isn't mention as she isn't directly involved in the events. As more people has pointed out.
