But this story was was flawed - he was told that she was drowned but she had told a British Officer before she died that she had spilled - so what is supposed to have happened? Did the British Officer drown Kirby's daughter - of course not! The story does not ring true because it isn't true. Dr. Kirby on reflection would have realised this and started to ask awkward questions (as government or ex. government scientists are apt to do). So why not tell Dr. Kirby the truth, after all he will be bounded to secrecy anyway and as Harry says Dr. Kirby is a "princpled man". |
