Episodes 1 & 2 [re-watch]

So I watched 6.2 last night. It is aaaallll about Jo and Connie for me.

I love the introductory images of Connie with the bottle of gin (I think? I'm pretty sure it wasn't a whisky. It was clear. Might be vodka? which would be VERY interesting.) And the Sudoku book followed by the breath spray to cover the gin. Good direction, that! Boy, you just learned almost everything you need to know about her even before you get to that wonderful exchange with Harry and Malcolm, her bolstering of Harry's confidence, and her brilliant foray into the field. I adored Connie for the moment I met her. It is very interesting to watch with 20/20 hindsight.

And Jo's performance esp. with the Edik Kuznetzov character is cool too. I thought he was very interesting. He is clearly an old school spy of what I thought was a comparable position to Harry. Jo ends the ordeal with more respect for him than she began with.

On a shallow note, PF looks hot in the black jeans a blue shirt. Back to maturity, his chemistry with Matthew Marsh is great. There is "almost" respect between the two.

Interesting that Ros is the one with the heart in this episode and Adam most decidedly is not. Thank the lord that wasn't Zaf!

And the superimposed series arc makes its introduction. The intro just seemed superfluous to me - tacked on.
