She’d said that she couldn’t marry him, not that she didn’t want to. Perhaps he was clutching at straws, but surely that was not the same thing? Big Grin

The above is an example of the kind of thing you do so well in your writing. This little descriptive action says so much about Harry's emotional and mental state in that moment.
