(And, yes, for me Masie was irritating too  )When Tom told her who he was, neither of them handle it properly. -The moment Tom told her the truth, Danny called him and he lied again about he was going out for a drink, I think he could have said it was a matter of security; but lying again? definitely not a good idea. I understood Ellie's reaction, it was too much to take in, and out of the blue... But she couldn't make Tom choose between his job and her. It was asked before but, when is it the perfect moment to tell your boyfriend/girlfriend that you're an MI5 officer? It's a difficult question...
