I understood that scene, as once Dyllon knew he was used by Victor/Nightingale (because they knew of his strong believes against muslims and 'had a temper' as Lucas described him) he lost his motivation for lighting up the institute with the girls inside, after all he didn't need much persuassion to let go the girl.
Still, I got the impression, that the humiliation and pain made him think about lighting up himself, because IMO he kept the lighter ready to use it. So when I said that Ashok saved him, I meant, prevent to kill himself, more than continue with the plan, at least that's how I saw it Indirectly by preventing Dyllon to do it, they avoided anyone else to get hurt, after all the floor was also with gasoline, so if he did light himself up, the fire could have spread easily.
