Granted Harry may have picked a bad time to ask Ruth to marry him but I think the feeling was genuine and he is trying to get their relationship out into the open. Ruth, on the other hand, seems not to know what she wants and that indecision seems to plague her interactions with him (and is also confusing the hell out of me).  "What is the truth?"
