Ah, true. I shall re-phrase then Smile: every character I like/respect turning rogue! (Connie, Lucas, please not Beth!)

Haha, perhaps he always vainly hopes 'There won't be a mole this time....there won't be a mole this time!'

Well, with all those agencies working so closely together, it's kind of inevitable in terms of how the plot is devised. Considering that there are apparently only 4 people currently working in section D, we can assume the show is not wholly realistic Wink

The fact that MI5 also have moles in the FSB and CIA supports the theory that there should inevitably be moles within their own organisation... but apparently no-one is any good at spotting them!

Back on the subject of Beth though, I'm interested to see how her and Dmitri work together Big Grin Dmitri needs a lot more character development, and it'll be interesting to see how their relationship grows; especially seeing as they're now technically the 'senior' field officers Confused

I always thought Connie was fishy. In fact, the first moment I saw her, I had a gut instinct that she was a bad seed. And it didn't go away even when they checked out that Connie wasn't bad. It was just this cold feeling in my gut every time I saw Connie, I just always felt uncomfortable. Glad I was proven right. But even Connie got a good redemption, better than Lucas.

As for Harry.....he may have to pray harder because it isn't working....

Nope, they always spot them after they get attacked...which kinda defeats the purpose of stopping the moles....Dodgy

I always thought Beth and Dimitri are like siblings. Kinda like a sister-brother team, they do look out for each other and do a lot of stuff together. Beth seems younger than Dimitri, so I always felt like she's like the baby sister to Dimitri's big brother.

I hope they won't go into romance, I like this sibling-vibe I get from them. It's like watching a mini-Ros/Lucas team where Ros was the big sister to Lucas's little brother.....Kinda adorable! Angel

I like Beth and Dimitri, not romance, but sibling-wise...Smile

I kinda feared she wasn't all good....but I pulled a Harry and hoped she wouldn't turn traitor because I liked her attitude!

Yeah, I think Beth is the type of person to need a different guy than Dimitri...I'm sure I'm not getting a great picture of him right now since he's one of the newbies (and we don't really see him much thanks the Lucas-black-hole ordeal), but I don't think he and Beth would go oh-so-wonderfully together in a romantic setting. We need a good sibling-type team now that Lucas and Ros are gone! Harry and Ruth can give us our romance Big Grin

So far I like Dimitri's attitude, he stood up to Harry, he's got guts, and he has this cheery upbeat personality that I thought was a sense of fresh air for a show that is so serious all the time. And I like how he looked out for Beth and tried to cheer her up when she had the issues with Kai.

To me, it just felt like this big brother looking out for his kid sister, the same way that Ros's voice would soften or change whenever she saw Lucas being vulnerable, she was like the big sister to Lucas's kid brother. It was just very sweet to see Ros looking out for Lucas, and then seeing that devotion returned when Lucas raced back to the building to try and get Ros out.

I think Beth and Dimitri has that relationship, she seemed to look up to him in a way, and he's looking out for her and try to keep her upbeat. It's a cute sibling dynamic and I hope they keep that.

And, on a complete different topic...

On the Chinese episode (9.4?), Beth uses a fantastic overcoat. Nicely tailored, belted, flared skirt. It did wonders for her. Does anyone know the maker and where one can buy it? I have found nothing so far.

No i don't i'm afraid.
I've been looking for over two years for the coat Ros and Ruth wore in 5.5 with no luck. Sad
Keep looking though and you may be able to find one. Smile

I like Beth's character. I do think that she and Dimitri could use more character development, but regardless she did seem to leave a strong impression this series. Hope she hangs around for a while. Big Grin

RE: [Spoilers] Beth Bailey
I think it's great that Sophia Myles based the character on a real-life MI5 agent; when she has more screen-time to play around with the character a bit more, I'm sure she'll be great. I think she'll bring an interesting dimension to Beth's character, as someone who has shown herself to be selfishly motivated, yet still has a great deal of emotional integrity.
