That's plausible. I keep thinking Vaughn will turn out to be like Keyser Soze.

I don't have much to add; I liked the episode as a whole, I liked the split way of telling us, but I also agree the Chapman part was a bit unnecessary.

I liked the development of Harry and Lucas relationship, enjoyed the lines about treachery, and looking forward to more!!

I'm loving Dimitri but he had very little screen time, I can't get enough of it!

I don't like Maya storyline for now, let's see how it goes, too soon to judge.

I thought they are british born, with spanish speaking parents or maybe it’s just that they were shouting and trying to sound threatening… or is it just me? Bea?
That was also my reaction: in Spanish? Really? I didn't understand a thing! I played it again and could understand it putting all my attention.

LOL I was thinking of just that, Harry was saying how "we don't lie to each other" and all I could think about was Series 7 and the whole Sugarhorse thing and even last season, I mean, we all know Harry can lie without blinking an eye. A bit hypocritical that he's suddenly changed his standards.

But then again, I guess Harry himself is changing too. Maybe all these lies and deaths is really getting to him and he just wants to change now.

Although Harry lied about operational stuff, where the need to know principle was in play. He didn't lie about dodgy stuff in his past, as Beth and Lucas are doing here.

True, but I was under the impression that Harry didn't have much dodgy stuff in his personal life to begin with, so there wouldn't really be a reason to hide anything. But still I did find the statement to be rather hypocritical considering the kind of lies that's been happening way before Series 9 even came on.

As for Beth, her whole life is dodgy, and god knows Lucas's is a complete mess.

Btw, I know they probably assumed to have done this off-screen, but Harry did promise Lucas a "proper talk" when Lucas first came back......I'm still waiting....Silba

I'm waiting for this too! I wanna know how the moscow operation went balls up.

I'm curious about how Lucas was recruited now. If he was recruited after things screwed up in Africa, what was he doing before he was with MI-5? And if Lucas totally fooled MI-5 into buying his new identity... he's even more brilliant than I thought! However we don't know how much Harry knows about Lucas yet. I guess we'll learn more next week.

I was a little surprised that Harry let Beth back on the team so easily... but Ros had deceived her colleagues many times and stayed on board, so Beth's reprieve is perhaps not so unusual.

I'm curious to know why Vaughan's details are so highly classified. Does that mean he might be working for the Government ?
I'm kind of hoping that Lucas might be in some sort of witness protection plan which is why he could get pass MI-5 vetting process.

I don't think Vaughn had a stroke, I think that's just what he's been telling people. My theory is that he took a bullet to the head, and that it was possibly John who shot him as well. Either that, or John/Lucas and Vaughn were working on something really dangerous that caused Vaughn to have a stroke just from being around it. In Spooks that is probably not impossible...

Yes - I agree. As I posted earlier, is it really credible that Lucas/Beth or anyone else for that matter would be recruited without failing to uncover their difficult paths....

Borderline fantastical and I've never been under the impression that the scriptwriters have stretched it that far.

Loving those black gloves Harry, all very Cold War. Looking forward to the new Le Carre Smiley dramatisations.
