Hello everyone. I am new to this site and really enjoying the discussion. Regarding the summary for episode 7, here is my take. I read somewhere (on spoosforum I think) that they had filmed two endings to series 9. They must have filmed one based on the assumption that there would be no series 10 (hence MAlcolm, at a funeral, say Harry, Ruth or both), and one based on the assumption that there would be a series 10. It's unthinkable that they would kill off HArry if they want to continue. As for Ruth....not so sure. Really worried now.Angry

Series series 9 in general Spoiler: show
I was under the impression that the ultimate betrayal had already happened in 9.1 when it turned out that Nicholas Blake had betrayed the country and caused the death of Ros. I thought RA said that Lucas wasn't who we thought he was.

I have to say I never thought of this and it could be right.

Series 9 Spoiler: show
But it's the "second least likely person" quote which bothers me. I can't see that that would be NB.

Series 9 Spoiler: show
I agree with what everyone is saying that it would be a bad decison for the show's future to write Ruth out but it could be out of Kudos' hands.

If Nicola Walker's contract is up she might have decided that she didn't wish to renew.

RE: [Spoilers] Episode 7 Summary
My stomach hurts. Confused

Series 9 as it pertains to H & R Spoiler: show
The thought of writing out Ruth and/or Harry upsets me to no end. Frankly, IMO, PF is going no where. The ratings would plummet if he did. I could see where NW could get written out. Again. As long as those two get their sh** together and it were very, very cleverly written, I *think* I would be able to swallow it. Eventually. With a very large cheesecake and a very good bottle of scotch. Their relationship certainly needs a catalyst. Ruth getting the sh** kicked out of her might be it. IMO, a dead Ruth would mean an S10 with a very emotional Harry teetering on the edge and possibly going off the deep end. Which would certainly be a way to end the show overall! And if it does go onto an S11 (I can hope) where would Harry go from there? Conversely, an alive Ruth would mean a) H&R not "together" and more will they/won't they which has been examined quite thoroughly and satisfactorily in S9, or b) H&R together and themes that examine the price of being together in that situation.

Yes, please! I'll see your Gaviscon and raise you a Tylenol PM. Not that I didn't stay up until 1am last night reading happy-ending fanfic! Big Grin

RE: [Spoilers] Episode 7 Summary
I wish they wouldn't put the Summaries up so far in advance - I don't have the willpower to ignore them!

I am now desparate to see what the one fpr Ep 8 says as it may calm me down a bit.

I know how you feel. We have to wait another three weeks yet to find out what happens! I have a heavy feeling in the pit of my stomach, and my head's doing over time trying to dream up positive scenarios.

Series series 9.7 speculation Spoiler: show
I don't know if I should say this but maybe NW was unsure for personal reasons whether she wanted to be in Series 10, perhaps she wants to extend her family, so she warned Kudos to give her an escape route.

RE: [Spoilers] Episode 7 Summary
Like HRFan, I'm new to the discussion (though I've been lurking for a while), and I have to say, my stomach hurts. My mom and I are both huge fans of both Harry and Ruth, so we started talking about the potential meanings of the summary.

Series 9 Pure Speculation Spoiler: show
Maybe (read, "Hopefully") Deery sacrifices himself for Ruth and she survives with a few scratches (maybe a black eye). The way I'm seeing the Lucas v. Harry confrontation "that will change Section D for ever" is Lucas shooting Harry and Harry surviving but choosing to retire. That way, Harry can go vigilante in Episode 8 (maybe hunt Lucas down or something), Ruth can take over the Grid, and they can eventually hand it over to someone else.

I'm pretending this is a definite possibility. I just can't see Kudos
Series 9 another speculation Spoiler: show
killing off Harry or Ruth. Either way, they'd be losing part of the fan base. Plus, on a logical side that I think someone already mentioned, Harry would be crazy if anything happened to Ruth. While that could make some wonderful episodes, it seems like it wouldn't be enough to have another series.

I love that idea Gold Cormorant (and welcome to the SF) but
Series 9 Spoiler: show
what would happen in Series 10? There would be no H/R. Yikes!! Also I just can't believe they would hurt both Harry and Ruth in the same episode. It would make everyone a jibbering mess...if we are not already. From the wording of that article, I think Ruth gets quite seriously hurt, unfortunately.
