Not to make you worried again, but we don't know where this clip is placed in the episode, it could be at the beginning or something, maybe that's where the real Lucas kidnaps Ruth. I guess we'll just have to see......

Series speculation 9.8 Spoiler: show
a cover-up by Harry for Lucas to disappear like Ruth in 5.5?
a ruse from John/Lucas to disappear?
a twist which only the writers know?

in any case from what Wylie write in his blog, I hope the tone of the postscript is positive instead of negative!

Honestly I am just too tired to even think of explanations now, it could be anything, it could be the Easter Bunny behind it for all I know. Everything is so convoluted, messed up, and somewhat stupid, so I really have no idea what the writers could do next, they may just decide to sink the whole of Britain or something, I mean, that would certainly be dramatic!DodgyConfused

I regret to inform you that, as of this moment, our former section chief Lucas North is to be regarded as a rogue officer.” MI5 chief Harry Pierce’s (Peter Firth) opening words set the tone for a concluding episode that reflects the patchy quality of the spy drama’s ninth series. There’s lots of torrid action but, despite the slushy love themes, it never quite rings true emotionally.
