When do you think Series 10 will premiere?

RE: When do you think Series 10 will premiere?
Some really great points raised about the air date. At first I thought Sunday was foolish, but actually I find myself agreeing with the posters above. It is a different concept now the last series has been confirmed and Spooks has nothing to prove at all.

I agree A Cousin that Spooks and DA won't necessarily have the same viewers (although there would be some cross over) and Spooks may pick up the haters of period dramas. And also the people who prefer watching DA/ drama minus the annoying ads by recording it.

Whilst Spooks won't beat DA, DA has to prove itself worthy of the second (and possibly more) series, Spooks does not. and yes agree totally with you Naivety :

More people watch TV on a Sunday than any night midweek. It has no evening classes to compete with, no one goes to the supermarket, and not many people go to the pub or clubbing on a Sunday. It won't beat Downton Abbey, but it will make a dent in the 12 million that watched it last year.

Let the celebration of Spooks begin, I am so happy that a date has been confirmed and it is so close now folks! I cannot wait!

I agree Naivety I think Spooks is going to surprise everybody with ratings this year. Just looking on Twitter everyone is seeming to favour watching Spooks and then either taping Downton or watching it on +1, and not just us mad Spooks fans but normal people too lol. I'm hoping for great things and then Kudos will see they have made a huge mistake and decide to do a series 11 Smile

I can't imagine anyone with a PVR who wants to watch both shows will watch DA and record Spooks. I think only children enjoy ads these days

According to BBC press Spooks is moving to monday nights from the second episode onwards so next sunday is obviously just to see how it competes with Downton

Haha! Very sneaky BBC marketing department!

I think it was TL who mentioned this one earlier? So Spooks gets a little extra promotion with "the battle" with Downton Abbey on Sunday 9/18 and then retreats back to its comfy little spot on Mondays. Clever, veeeeery clever!

It's annoying the BBC still haven't mentioned Ruth!... Anyone else a bit worried about that, or maybe they're just keeping her part in the Series secret Tongue

Probably best discussed in the Rumor & Speculation thread which I see you have already started, so thanks! Smile
