When posting fanfiction, are we allowed to post a link to an external site?

There's no rule against it in the FanFiction Submission Guidelines thread, but I don't think I've seen anyone do it. Might be quite nice if people want to recommend others' fics, but the authors aren't on here to post here?

I have no problem at all with links to fanfiction.net. Other links you will have to run by me first if that's ok?
