				Twilight

OK, I have to confess I'm about 25 years too old for Twilight but I am hooked. I've just started reading the 4th book. I'd wanted to see the Twilight film in the cinema but I couldn't persuade my kids to so in the end I watched it on my iPod. I really now regret not having seen it on the big screen. Anyone else here a Twilight fan, of either the film or the books?

					I willfully detest Twilight.

Granted I have not read the books, but the film was awful.. and the thing I hate the most is the hype about it... it feels very undeserved of its popularity. Sig & Av Guidelines | Rules | Spoiler Policy |

The books were written for teenagers, and are at their level, but for an overstretched mother with far too many other things to think about they've been a really enjoyable quick read and far better than some badly written chick lit. As for hype - I hadn't realised there was any, not here in the UK anyway. I loved the film which is why I started reading the books. But all to their own

I can't say that I've seen or read twilight but I've been put off it because no one will shut up about it

I'll give the books a try I think, but when I can think of the name and not want to hit something lol

Aww whufan. Its ok - i am a fan.

When I went to canada last year i had been there a few days and was going stir crazy in the hostel with nothing to read so i was in some convenience store that had a few books for sale and the only one that vaguely interested me was Twilight because i knew a bunch of people over on livejournal who were either RABID fans or LOATHED it. So i bought the book and read it. I enjoyed it enough that i immediately had to hunt down an actual bookstore to get the next book. This was about a week before the film was released in North AMerica. ![]() So I bought and read all the books by the time the film came out and had started reading them a second time. Even though the film took an already kind of naff story and made it worse i still went and saw it 3 times. ![]() Anyways so yes I do like Twilight, but I class the writing at the level of say bad fanfiction. The kind that is epically cheesy but you cant help but read it anyways! I actually adore characters that are NOT Bella and Edward. I like Jacob, Alice, Jasper and Charlie best. And re your more recent question - i read the Vamp Chronicles up till....I think I read the Vampire Armand but I had gone off Anne Rice by then. Anyways I enjoy the Mayfair books (first 3 anyways - havent read the other ones that tie them into the Vamp Chronicles) much more.
