Games
Although I'm after specific help, which I'll get to in a minute, I'm surprised no-one's started a gaming thread other than Facebook games so here it is!

Anyway, I need help. My stepson has asked us to get DS games for his 8 yo son and 6yo daughter for Christmas and I'm clueless for what's out there nowadays for that age, my kids being 14 and 11! Any suggestions?

RE: Games
Sorry. My daughter's about the same age as his, but we're keeping our kids away from video games for a while yet, so I don't know what's out there.

RE: Games
Actually, I was rather surprised when we turned up at their house last Christmas to find they had a Wii and a PS3. To find that the older 2 also have Ds's too....how many games consoles do 3 kids need?? I think you're right about keeping your kids off gaming, Bertowud. I managed to hold out until my eldest was 10 but then I realised he rarely invited friends back because we didn't have any kind of games console and his friends seemed incapable of any imaginary kind of play and ended up bored.

RE: Games
Maybe they could make a game with Robert Glenister showing them how to use their imaginations! That'd be awesome!

Hope I've helped!

RE: Games
I noticed the Professor Layton ones when I was doing an Amazon search so I think one of them might be worth getting. The Lego games are always good. So thanks Nitrus Smile

RE: Games
I have both the Professor Layton games I think they might be too much for a 6 year old and a challenge even for a competent 8 year old. There's a new Zelda game out now, also Scribblenauts is lots of fun. Any of the Lego franchises, or Mario v Sonic. Nintendogs? Altho they prob have that already, been around for years.
