Brilliant chapter! What a nice birthday present. I thought you portrayed Harry, Lucas and Ruth very believably, and in character. Loved how Harry gave Lucas some leeway, but also made it very clear where the line was and that he would be out if he didn't toe it. Also loved the gentle and understated scenes between Harry and Ruth. Now I wish we could see something like that for real...

Wonderful fic! Liked that Harry and Lucas spoke at last about their differences. And HR great as always Big Grin Could you send Kudos this fic for them to take some notes about what they should deal with in the show?

Today it's your birthday, Silktie? HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Hope you have a marvellous day! Smile

Brilliant - just read the whole fic and loved the hurt, angry provocative Lucas - you've captured that side of his character very well.

Also loved the HR scenes, the contrast between characters so intelligent, insightful and educated yet excruciatingly awkward with what should be the most basic human relationship.

Please write more!

Read all the chapters in one sitting as you recommended. Great idea! I thought you did an excellent job with all of the subplots and the Harry/Ruth subplot was tenderly and delicately handled. I confess that I adore Lucas and started reading this because I hoped you would explore him. I hope you will write more and explore his evolution now that you've put him into a treatment scenario. He hasn't hit bottom yet and the aloneness and isolation hasn't been addressed. Really enjoyed it. Thank you.

Wow! Thanks AnnMarie. There is lots of Lucas to come in my next fic, which is mostly planned but doesn't have an ending. Yet.

There'll also be a bit of Tring in there Smile

To Jhyde,

I will look forward to your next story. I just added an avatar and a signature line and had originally added the "colleagues are okay" line that you have on yours because it is an inside tragic joke with a dear friend of mine. I think your signature (Tyger created it?) is great.

Thanks-
