RE: Strike Back
... still haven't watched 5+6 (but for some 3min skimming), saving it for a day when I have NOTHING else to do Tongue but after my initial anticipation and excitement (post pre-release hype) I was decidedly underwhelmed with 1+2 and, after lowering my expectations A LOT I found myself enjoying 3+4. Still not impressed though.. TV equivalent of popcorn cinema. From what I gathered, 5+6 are pretty much a repetition of 3+4, just with slightly different settings and characters (except for recurring annoying ones like Danni).
I too wouldn't have watched it hadn't it been for RA.. and IF there is a second series I hope they get a proper script.

TL Big Grin - I too had to rely on subtitles Big Grin

RE: Strike Back
I didn't know it was supposed to be a series, thought it was to be a mini-series, a long movie. So, I did feel that once the lady journalist was rescued it began getting confusing because the only thing really left to do was find out why Collinson did what he did. Although the middle story was very good, I kept wondering how it was advancing the important parts of the story.

There is lots of extraneous footage and meanderings that lead nowhere that could be cut instantly. I'd keep the last story (assuming the second was gone) because Porter needed to understand Collinson more and clear himself, but distilled to a half hour or so.

It would work better (for me) as a two hour movie. They have at least two hours of great stuff and removing the fluff would have made it excellent.

Rooftop scene:
Beth and Dmitri sneak up and disarm Lucas, cuff him and lead him away.
Lucas screams, "No Harry please, I'd rather die!"

Harry: "We're sending you to rehab ................. in Texas."

I have managed to see SB via other ways (ahem) but maybe if SB is showing in Canada...RA will have to do some promotions here... hmmmm although that's around the same time as Series 9 will be on...but a girl can hope.... Silba
