Has anyone in the UK seen anything of 'The Silence' yet? It's written by one of my favourite television writers, Fiona Seres, who was one of the main writers on Love My Way. I read this week she's living in the UK and that it has (in part) shown there already. Lots of good actors involved.

It's a crime drama so may well appeal to a lot of viewers on here.

It was on over 5 nights last week on BBC1. Great actors involved including Hugh Bonneville, Dervla Kirwan and Douglas Henshall. It also had Shazad Latif (Tariq) in it as well. Very enjoyable.

Really? I like him so much, hope he's used more in season 9. I missed that on the run through.

Seres wrote some of the gutsiest drama I've ever seen so I'm always interested in what she does next.

not sure yet what to make of Sherlock, interesting concept moving him and his whole world to 21st century (a 3-patch problem .. ROFL) and I've already taken to Watson but Holmes is still slightly ..grating. Will watch next ep though, more intrigued than irritated.

I really liked it, and it's in Holmes' nature to be grating.

I really enjoyed it and thought the concept worked very well set in the present day. I actually thought Sherlock was better than Watson but also loved Mrs Hudson (Aunt Sally) and "texting Anthea."

Looks interesting. I wonder how long before PBS plays it over here. Where is that site listing the next PBS fundraiser?

RE: What other TV do you watch?
don't get me wrong - I'm intrigued.. and I did like the first episode, and the concept, and brilliant but arrogant Sherlock (looking forward to seeing the relationship between him and Watson develop).. and Mrs. "I'm not your housekeeper" Hudson) and some of the other fringe characters (forgot his name but that crime scene guy!!! - should make for great dialogues between him and Holmes)..not to forget mysterious Mycroft...
There's just something niggling at the back of my head that I can't put into words..
and I definitely have to get subtitles - I've always thought I could speak & understand fasterthanlightningEnglish but Holmes lost me at just about every other corner Big Grin
'Identy' did not get me hooked, Holmes half has.
