RE: Series 9 Episode 7 discussion
*takes another valium*

Well, that was stressful. A good solid episode but I was perhaps hiding behind my jumper for some of it, especially when Lucas stabbed Vaughn in the leg. That was nasty!!

Well, lets be honest now, who is John Bateman? Well, infortunately it seems he is a cold blooded killer and a terrorist. Probably acting out of monetary reward instead of any miss placed ideology. Why did he take the identity of Lucas North? I think it was just to save his own skin. Why did he spend 8 years in a cell in Russia? Because he had no choice. God knows what secrets he gave away. We only had his word for it, that he kept his mouth shut.

Basically everything John told Harry was BS. He also failed to mention Albany. Harry was played again.

I have to say that I actually had more sympathy with Vaughn in the end than Lucas. I can't see a way out for this for John, I am afraid.

As for the Ruth story !! Heavens. That woman is damaged goods. Everything Harry tries with her fails. I can't see that there is anything more he can do to bring the old Ruth back. The way she shot the Frenchman at the end? She didn't care did she? She had no feelings inside her.

I am convinced Harry spent the night at the hospital as well. She never even noticed that he seemed a mess and was at the hospital first thing in the morning.

Wonderful performances from RA, PF and NW.

As for the Ruth/Harry storyline....I fear for Ruth's mortality next week. it feels as though she is either going to quit to find her heart again or get killed.....maybe die in the lovely Harry's arms. i would hate for either of these storylines though!
There is no way back for Luke/John now...and have he completley forgotton that he had a wife by the way since he left Maya? Maya seems like such a non-character to be right now...there must be more to her....hmmmm

I wouldn't worry too much. My girlfriend doesn't watch it but she just goes and studies while I watch it...then I question her on any medical aspects afterwards...like could Vaughan have managed to run away with a 6" blade in his thigh!!

so whats the answer - i'm drawn in now. could vaughan run away with a 6" blade in his thigh?

It's better watching it with someone, someone to scream at, I've always had to watch it on my own before Sad

RE: Series 9 Episode 7 discussion
I think the only way people would possibly have forgiven John/Lucas is if the writers had decided to go down the Jason Bourne route...had something happen to John that caused him to lose his memory, or at least part of it...but I don't see how that could tally with the plot now so while I would like to see Lucas remain as part of Section D, I think his days are numbered...

...though maybe he could run for parliament Wink

I know...seems like poor characterisation to me. For such a tortured and broody soul you wouldn't expect him to forget her so quickly...

Well it could be that
Spoiler: show

Maya is actually in on it with the Chinese, John finds out, he flips even further, realises the only thing he can do in the end is to try and redeem himself to Harry... God knows how far he'll go, though.

Basically...yes, if he had enough adrenalin in his system and the knife had missed his major blood vessels (which conveniently the writers though to cover in the dialogue!!) then he could overcome the pain to run on it...
