Re the new clip - Did someone say that they re shot the roof scene?
Series 9 Spoiler: show
Perhaps that is the reason for the lack of blood in one shot ! Lucas please let Harry live. Jump off the roof to end as a hero instead. My hope here is that Ruth is still alive as Harry offers to help him and I don't think he would do that if Lucas had killed Ruth. Also wonder where Ruth, Maya and the back up team is

Good thought, harrbd. I saw the lapse in continuity as well.

Series 9.8 Spoiler: show
I am not so convinced that Ruth would have to be alive for Harry to meet with Lucas. I think it entirely possible that he would be as likely to offer his life up so quickly if she were dead. In addition, Harry's inherent sense of decency and integrity would prompt him to try to save Lucas/John in honor of Ruth.

At any rate, it is very clear that this clip is the culmination of a series dedicated to the choices they make and how the job can dehumanize them. Harry is offering Lucas a very simple choice between good and evil.

And was that a bit of the Yorkie coming through in PF's speech when he turns his back to Lucas? Love. It!

I have to concentrate on these technical things otherwise I am going to throw up!

Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet [Spooks];
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

I had always assumed the 'roof-top scene' was going to be the cliffhanger for this series but considering the BBC have released this clip, I guess I might be wrong.

Lucas 8.4: It's all about trust, isn't Harry ?.

Gripping stuff, despite the continuity error which was so glaring that even I noticed it!

Series 9.8 Spoiler: show
I regret to inform you that, as of this moment, our former section chief Lucas North is to be regarded as a rogue officer.” MI5 chief Harry Pierce’s (Peter Firth) opening words set the tone for a concluding episode that reflects the patchy quality of the spy drama’s ninth series. There’s lots of torrid action but, despite the slushy love themes, it never quite rings true emotionally.

Ah! Shud Up Daily Telegraph! Who wrote this review, some spotty boy?

Can't spell won't spell; ' Harry Pierce'. A Pierce Brosnan fan, he's think's he's reviewing the latest James Bond not Spooks ;-)

It depends, I agree at any cost he'd want to save Lucas, but Harry could offering his own life in that scene to stop Lucas hurting Ruth. If Ruth was dead by that point I would think either one of two things, Harry keeps his composure and tries to help Lucas in honour of Ruth, or he'd be so angry he'd have Lucas captured and taken and then put back in prison...
or it could be that Ruth is dead and Harry see's no reason to live, I think if Ruth died Harry would most likely retire Wink
I agree it is a simple choice to Lucas but also a hard one, he can kill Harry, but why would he, he'd never get Albany it would achieve nothing and he'd be a murderer, killing someone he trusted and was friends with,
I think Lucas just wants to be someone, because he's forgotten who he is, he wants to be good, but can't let go of all the wrong he's done, I really want Lucas to be a good guy, maybe in the end no one will die, but he will just leave,

Ohh this wait it killing me here! Wink
