Agreed. That really annoys me.
They did it in 4.2 & 4.10 i think and i'm sure there are more. I know it's 'Spooks' and so i can rarely say it's a predicatble outcome... but come on it's so cliche! Codename Kirayuki: Vid Maker. I haven't gotten around to getting my ep 8 discussion together yet, but I did have one potentially interesting question -- if both Ros and the HS made it through the blast, will he really make her section chief? Replacing Harry?
I would think that would be for the DG to decide, but since we don't seem to have had a DG in s8, everything goes directly to the HS.  "What is the truth?" "Betrayal is a cancer. Let it eat your soul, not mine." "Please tell me this isn't going where I think it's going." |

I doubt he would. Besides what would his grounds be for replacing Harry? He seemed to genuinely want Harry to like him too so replacing him would be silly.
My suggestion is that Ros could be given a custom made job role which is to make all visits to the Home Sec's on behalf of Harry except under extreme circumstances.

Ros doesn't require a job upgrade; she just needs to make it through the blast. It would be cute if next season she and HS had a date or three.
Rooftop scene: Beth and Dmitri sneak up and disarm Lucas, cuff him and lead him away. Lucas screams, "No Harry please, I'd rather die!" Harry: "We're sending you to rehab ................. in Texas."

she politely (?) declined the offer anyway... and somehow I can't see her in Harry's shoes... the games he has to play are not for her methinks
