Firstly, there's no way Firefox destroyed your computer lol.
Secondly, what browser are you using? I can tell you if it's out of date or not. On the web page where it says it's out of date you can download the latest version of whichever browser you use. The reason your browser needs to be up to date is because the website is very modern and uses a lot of really great design techniques that only work in modern browsers.
