Rewatches of this episode always make my heart break for Ruth's character trajectory. You could see that she was struggling with the job even in this episode and nobody but Danny noticed and then there was no time to grieve and well I just feel like she never dealt with this stuff properly.
The part at the end where she says the bit to Danny about "Promise me that we'll never end up as bitter, twisted and alone as he was..." or something like that always gets me. I know that that was foreshadowing for 3.10 but gees rewatching that after s9 really killed me. Irony eh? |
