....when a conversation with someone you know who has just adopted a new dog from animal welfare goes something like this:

Them: ...and we called him Harry.

You: Oooohhh, after Pearce?

Them: No, after Potter. Who's Pearce? (They laugh, and because you don't want to be rude, you laugh too.)
