Lucas RE: Series 9 Episode 2 discussion
I really liked this ep. From the exciting storyline to the new format, I thought this episode was really interesting and had me on the edge of my seat. I especially liked the new format this episode used with the names of characters and their perspectives (new and made it exciting and helped to increase understanding of the episode). I'm liking Beth more too (only seen 2 episodes w/her, but I'm liking her- and Sophia Myles- more and more as the episodes continue Big Grin). I really like the part at the end where she fooled Chapman and said "you don't know really know me either." Classic. Another thing I liked was how cool Harry was and acted when confronting Westhouse and getting the bag from him. It was also interesting how the BP disaster was mentioned and how Spooks' writers were able to tie that in with the show.

The only thing I didn't like was the Lucas-Maya storyline. I have a feeling that this is going to get messy and may turn ugly...

The confrontation between Harry and Westhouse at the end was so well written, both talking about something but meaning something else, classic Harry!

I don't even want to talk about the Lucas-Maya storyline! Sad

Lucas 8.4: It's all about trust, isn't Harry ?.

Definitely. THat was a great scene and Harry did really well in secretly/covertly getting the briefcase from him. Smile

Yeah it doesn't sound good from what I've seen. Sad.

if i may jump in here with a thought - yes i am new - but the writers seemed to have forgotten lucas said his wife was the one he was thinking about when he was in prison, not maya. it seemed she just appeared in the storyline without any regard for what went on before.

just a thought. i watched all of the series over a couple of weeks time - an orgy of spooks you might say. and it is very interesting to see them one right after the other.

hope it is ok to speak up.

RSG- Feel free to add your input! Smile I agree with what you said...I didn't think of it when I wrote my post a couple days before, but it dawned on me. You're right that it was his wife that his mind was focused on...Much of series 7 focused on him and his wife. It is indeed a bit weird to have Maya pop up and suddenly all the focus be on her when he had more focus on his wife when in prison (at least according to the series 7 plot).

That's awesome that you've watched all of them Smile. I have watched 1-8 over the series of almost a year...They're really exciting aren't they? Spooks is awesome.

You're welcome! Chime in anytime! Big Grin.
I'm actually in the USA. My public television station (PBS) is surprisingly generous with Spooks (some stations haven't gone to 9 yet). I'm crossing my fingers and hoping my station will show all of series 9! I love it thus far...(well I love all the series). How did you like the other parts of episode 2 by the way?
