[spoilers] Episode 8 summary

RE: [spoilers] Episode 8 summary
It's Spooks - so prepare yourself for a shock. I think the last scene will be Lucas and Harry aiming pistols at each other and I do think (speculations) that Lucas will shoot Harry (black and white fade out).

(I'm sure Harry will live, but that's for S10).

But if this is remotely like what happens, then it's a stupid ending for the great yet complex character of Lucas North. Turning fugitive and running off with Maya? Oh, COME ON.

That sounds familiar . . . hmmm . . . Tom in s2. A different ending, please!

RE: [spoilers] Episode 8 summary
Looking at the opening titles to Spooks, there is a scene of Harry walking alone on the top of the old press centre which has a helicopter pad. I do wonder if this is where they have their showdown, on top of a high rise building!!!

As for Lucas shooting Harry, it's possible although they would be repeating history as we would all expect Harry to survive. Unless the shooting is staged for the benefit of whoever is pulling Lucas' strings.

RE: [spoilers] Episode 8 summary
Well, I tried to stay clear of this thread but failed miserably! But I'm glad I read it as I'm feeling more hopeful for both Harry and Ruth now. Coming back to optimists' corner with more cake!

The very first thing I thought of though, is that Harry is going to shoot Lucas. All the hints in the series so far about choices and difficult decisions, and Harry's quote in 9.5 about losing one's self must add up to something significant. Ruth has found it difficult to forgive Harry for being willing to allow Nico to be shot, and Harry saw how a similar decision ate up his old friend Levi. So when it comes to a decision between Ruth and Lucas, he is going to choose Ruth this time - besides, Ruth is loyal and Lucas isn't.

Idea OMG just had another thought, supposing Lucas/John turns out to be Harry's son! Then he would have to choose between the love of his life and his son! Too soapy for Kudos?

Awesome end to a fantastic series though, whatever happens.

WHY!!!! WHY MUST THIS BE HAPPENING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Vueltasss

I REFUSE TO BELIEVE IT!!! NOOO!!! NOT LUCAS!!!!!VueltasssConfused

RA said he had them promise that it has to be a good exit if they are gonna kill him, so I'm hoping that this crazy insane ending is not gonna make Lucas an evil person, let him die being a hero!!!!

RE: [spoilers] Episode 8 summary
Nope. My mind just can't accept Lucas turning traitor because of a woman. If it were vengeance for being left to rot in a Russian prison cell for 8 years, it would be believable. Not for love, doesn't matter how desperate he is.

They better come up with a good twist or I'm going to need more than JD to get through the last episode.

By the way, didn't they film 2 different endings in case Spooks didn't get a season 10? I wonder what is the alternative.

WORD!!!

I REFUSE to believe that Lucas would just suddenly throw away everything he has fought so hard to build for himself here at MI5, HIS HOME, for some silly woman (even if she is the love of his life) that he abandoned 15 years ago just because Vaughn is back and he saw her picture! I REFUSE!Vueltasss

And if that's how the writers are gonna give it to me, then Spooks will have truly lost me as a viewer, that's just complete character assassination unless they give me a damn good explanation on how Lucas went from courageous/loyal to stupid/insane.

Lucas North has always been about his loyalty to MI5 and Harry, I just refuse to believe he would turn on them this easily without a damn good reason, and for a girl is NOT a good reason.Dodgy

If 8 years of torture in a Russian hell hole didn't turn his loyalty, there has better be a good reason how 5 seconds of Vaughn, a briefcase, and a picture of an old flame can turn him!!!

People people people, you need to relax and read between the lines.

it's obviously a set up. Harry and Lucas are in it together to help Lucas set up Vaughn, solve the Albany case and stage Lucas' death to help him escape with Maya.

Consequently, Harry uses the excuse of been devastated to retire with Ruth. The last scene will be all four of them living happily ever after in Barbados(because there aren't any commies in ponchos there.)

See how easy that was. Look how calm I am.VueltasssThcussingSuicidaThud

Wow, these happy pills are delicious. They taste just like candy.
