It is a different ending. You will learn about the alternate ending in the s10 DVD extras.

Thanks to ForeverSecret, there is a link to it

and to the interviews of PF, NW, the writers and the producers. NW is very touching in it.

Many thanks for this beatrice4ruth.

It's hard to know, of course, without seeing it played out but I think I would probably have preferred this alternative.

RE: How did you rate Season 10?
I rewatched all the series earlier this year, so I have it in good memory. I didn´t know Spooks from the beginning in 2002, only discovered it in 2007 and watch "live" since then, I watched then the previous series retrospectively.
I agree completely about Ellie, LOL. She was really quite annoying.
In the earlier series, I enjoyed very much the concetration on details of the spy work and how it is difficult for them to get a normal personal life, the double (or more) lives of them, the "lives in boxes". That was a very interesting point I quite missed in newer series.

RE: How did you rate Season 10?
I personally felt it was one of the strongest seasons...
Especially following season 9 which was a total mess. ¬_¬

I really enjoyed season 10 despite the obvious 'lack of money' situation. The effort was definitely there. Also, I rather liked Erin despite her not being as imposing as I originally though she might be. Smile

Going to say 8/10 for this one.

Many reasons really.
No real connection to the relatively new officers.
I never liked Ruth and never bought into the Harry/Ruth thing.
Her death (Ruth's) was so... basic.
Would a Russian Minister's wife as a British agent really create such a fuss in 2011?
On the tenth "anniversary" of 9/11 would America be so hostile to its most loyal nation partner?
Calum is atrocious. The worst ever officer on the show.
How does Erin become Section Chief at so young an age, seemingly having never killed before and living with a mother and child?
And Elena as a double agent? She gave Triple A intelligence for so many years, then what happened? They just stopped using her?

There were so many things I just didn't like. Thankfully, Tom's re-appearance was epic and I loved Johnny and Natalie Grier.
