RE: Sir Harry Pearce
It does. His father was a banker and got an OBE, his mother died whilst he was in university. Anything else you would like to know?

DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered.

Thanks, so that would make them upperclass rather than middleclass then. I always got the impression from the way Harry carries himself that his background was something like that. His father was a banker? Gee, wonder what he thought of his son going to the army and becoming a superspy rather than following in the family tradition...Wink

RE: Sir Harry Pearce
He went to the army first, to be like his grandfather (mother's side,) before being recruited for MI5. His brother Ben did go into banking though Smile And I wonder if his father knew his son worked for MI5?

Aww, now I like him even more. Didn't know he had a brother, is he older or younger than Harry?
Good point about his father probably not knowing about him working for MI5. His Dad probably thought he worked for some boring department like Water & fisheries or something like that Tongue - I vaguely remember them saying at Danny's funeral that he worked for some silly govt department like that.

Yeah, I remember that! That was quite funny Smile His brother is about 3 years younger and called Ben.

RE: Sir Harry Pearce
Why do you think that so many women find Harry irresistible? He's not traditionally handsome, like say Adam or Lucas. Is it the fact that he's in a position of power?

He is controlled and principled. He has a dry sense of humour and is totally loyal to the Crown and his officers. These are attractive qualities to the thinking woman. His love life has suffered so we can all sleep soundly in our beds at night. I guess us gals just want to look after him and maybe thats partly our motherly instinct. I have to say that he is handsome but more so when he has his hair (what remains) cut very short, almost shaved. You have to remember though that any gal that ends up with him would never see him as he must work 24/7. So perhaps just working with him is as good a relationship you would have with him.

Plus he's a man who knows what he wants. Confidence goes a long way.

Always love your country, but never trust your government.

I agree with all of the above. For me, there is also a vulnerability that he hides really well but that we saw with his daughter, and when he asked Ruth out. This man who is normally so sure of himself was a little lost when it came to emotional issues, and showed that once you are in his heart, he is loyal to a fault.

Also love the sexy voice. Blush

Yes, didnt he take Bridget Jones' mum (Connie.....hisss) with him to the Palace? Thought that was a bit odd !
