I don't really know what they're trying to do with her, aside from running the team.

I completely agree with this comment. That bitchiness isn't so much fun anymore. Now she just seems like an irritating boss. Like that thing about Tariq's t shirt. What?!? It was just rude not at all amusing. Angry

Also, on the topic of Ros and Ruth, I think Ros suffers from Number 1 female syndrome. Other females are some kind of threat to her and she only likes to be around men. Dodgy

RE: Episode 2 Discussion
Yeah, as said before in this thread, I think we're gonna' see some awesome fireworks between Ros and Ruth.

Ruth clearly isn't an alpha type and doesn't pose any challenge to Ros on that front but Harry's feelings for her aren't going to sit well, especially when he inevitably opts for one of Ruth's suggestions over Ros's. Even though Ros knows Harry is more grounded with Ruth around, she's not going to be a happy camper.

Yes it seems that whenever Ros is being tailed or is following someone she takes them down and comes out on top. She surely is not that strong to come off best each time. Also the way she snapped at Jo about Bee Bee. Again a little over the top.

RE: Episode 2 Discussion
Ros was double talking with Jo - she was telling her off but actually saying what she could do. If you watch it again maybe you'll pick up on it.

To be honest, I think we got glimpses in the last episode of the new Ros attitude to Harry. She knows that having Ruth around can only help him, and that he is better for a "resolved" situation with her. I do think that there could be some tension when they disagree. But it would be wrong I think to suggest that this Ros is exactly the same as Ros when Ruth left.

RE: Episode 2 Discussion
Yes I agree she has changed and now has ultimate respect for Harry and would die for him. But Ros does have a jealous streak (like most women) and may not like the change in dynamics
Spoiler: show
when Ruth returns, that are coming.
Wanting Ruth back in Harry's life, perhaps to ease her conscience, is not the same thing as wanting her back on the Grid. I dont think I have heard Ros say anything about wanting her back working on the Grid.

Either way it will make for good viewing! I can't wait to see how it turns out, and just having Ruth back on the Grid will be brilliant. I've "missed [her] badly" too. And how excited she gets when she thinks she's found something that will help them.

Agreed. I've never been a huge Ros fan, but I really liked her in this episode. She didn't think Harry was handling things correctly, but never openly countermanded his instructions. She understood what he was going through and tried to accommodate him as much as possible. Also, I think she will be much more sympathetic towards Ruth than we would expect, judging from her reaction at the end of episode 1 when Harry tells the team that Ruth just told the kid his father was dead. She looked really sad about what Ruth went through.

Me too Silktie. Although I think Tea Lady may be right when she says that Ruth being on good terms with Harry outisde the Grid may not be the same as on and working together.

RE: Episode 2 Discussion
Definitely - on and off the Grid is completely different.

And the interaction with Ros/Ruth and Ros/Harry when Ruth's there will be different - Ros can't control him (well, I say control...) the same way that Ruth can. Ruth can subtly change his mind as we see in 8.1, whereas Ros can't as well.

DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered.

RE: Episode 2 Discussion
Just on the subject of Ros, who I am slowly learning to love:

I think Ros' behaviour toward anyone can be explained thus - everyone's a rotten personality and untrustworthy until proven otherwise. It's really not so surprising that she's so dubious of newcomers, given what she practices as a job, and how common defection is in Section D. Something Ros herself has practiced. It's not as though anyone's treated any differently.

I'm certainly not saying it's a good attitude, but it's how she operates. I'm definitely liking Ros a lot more, and I know some people are shirty with her after eps 1&2, but her role is being ramped up over the next few episodes, and more often than not Ros being a bitch is just compensating for her discomfort with change at work.
