RE: Episode 2 Discussion
I was only hypothesizing. I repeat: I DO NOT KNOW THE CATS ARE DEAD. I know Ruth's cats are very popular.

I really want to get that damn diary. Even if it is bollocks that he'd keep one.

LOL! Ooooh, you've started a rumour going round that the cats are dead, you're really going to upset Ruth Wink lol.

Why can't you get the diary? It's a really good read. And it explains at the beginning his reasons for keeping one.

Poor Lucasfan. Just pretend that the evil woman didn't kiss him - you never know, she might be killed off soon Wink

DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered.

RE: Episode 2 Discussion
Yes I couldnt wait, I have watched it. I liked it. I always go by whether it was a good episode, as to whether I could watch it again, and I could. There are plently of other Spooks episodes that I wouldnt bother watching again. Things I liked:

1) Ruth/Harry. Well acted again. Love seeing Harry putting Ruth first for a change. I wouldnt worry about Harry's drinking at this stage. He only downed that whisky at the end because he was going to have to ask the Home Sec for help on what was a personal matter really. Harry was taking a risk confiding in the HS as it could have back fired big time. I worry though that the HS now has one over Harry if he can make the charges against Ruth disappear.

Did anyone else think that Harry was on his mobile to Ruth when he was in his office and the team were watching him while the HS was live on the TV giving a statement. Harry has always watched the HS when he gives a statement but not this time. Is Ruth now his priority?

2) Seeing more of the HS. I dont think he has been in the Grid before. I liked him being in Harry's office at the end. Brill.

3) Jo. This was a good episode for Jo and I loved seeing her with Ruth and the 1:1 with Harry at the end. People have said that they get fed up with Jo getting all emotional with every case she deals with, but I like that and sometimes get fed up with the Ros "hard bitch" approach all the time.

4) Tariq. He is not a direct replacement for Malcolm so I like that they have got a character who is different to the other members of the team. I liked his penguin T-shirt.

Now what I didnt like is Lucas. I am struggling with him. I know there is a legion of RA fans out there but I cant really see what he is bringing to the series at the moment. I dont really know much about him and if I hear him say one more time "i'm off to speak to Sarah Caulfied" I will put my foot through the TV. My husband who is not a regular Spooks watcher or a big fan, groaned when he kissed her at the end and said havnt we seen this before. Well if he is saying that then havnt Kudos made a mistake here with this storyline....one to ponder....

I thought that too! Who was he talking to? I don't think it was Ruth, but the first time I was watching it I thought that it could be.

Harry never misses the HS make a statement. He was very animated thats why I thought it must be Ruth.

RE: Episode 2 Discussion
I thought that he would be more sort of quiet and less talkative if it was Ruth. Then again, I could be wrong. Maybe he was talking to HS - Maybe the tv wasn't showing live footage.

RE: Episode 2 Discussion
Yeah, he's usually pretty gentle with her. (Boys, this is a huge turn on. This is why women love Harry. He is capable of both great intimidation and surprising gentleness.) I think it was more that he was yelling and worked up and Ros and Jo know why.

We haven't talked much about the irony of the Russians selling them gas immediately after all the fall-out from season 7. But that's international politics for you - the enemy of my enemy is my friend. And let's not forget how fast Russia and the US became enemies after 1945.
